Network International, a payments product provider that services the Middle East and Africa, is set to rollout Mobeewave’s patented in-person contactless payment acceptance platform in the United Arab Emirates, according to a press release.
MasterCard and IDEMIA also are involved in the rollout, which would be Mobeewave’s first in the region.
Already operating in Australia, Canada and Poland, Mobeewave’s proximity payment platform leverages the NFC capability and secure element of modern smartphones. Meeting payment industry security standards, it enables individuals and merchants to accept contactless payments without the need for external hardware, according to the release.
“We’re looking forward to working with Network International to introduce Mobeewave’s innovative payment acceptance platform in the UAE,” Vincent Alimi, Mobeewave’s chief growth officer, said in the release. “We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with the largest merchant acquirer in the UAE — as well as industry leaders IDEMIA and Mastercard — and are eager to provide our solution to merchants in the region for the first time.”
