Would you like a side of fries and instant gratification with that? Amazon’s got you covered.

Friday morning, Sept. 22, Amazon and Olo announced a retail partnership that will give diners more options to order take-out and delivery meals through digital channels. According to a news release, the online food order service will be available to Amazon Prime members via the Amazon Restaurants platform, creating more visibility for restaurants that are already using Olo to power their digital food delivery.

Amazon Restaurants lets Prime members enjoy one-hour delivery of food from local restaurants at no extra charge — they just pay the menu price. Partnering with Olo adds 200 restaurant brands across 40,000 locations to the Amazon Restaurants offerings, including Applebee’s, Chili’s, Chipotle, Denny’s, Five Guys, Jamba Juice, Noodles & Company, Red Robin, Shake Shack, sweetgreen and Wingstop, among others.

“We are excited to leverage Olo’s digital ordering technology and continue rapidly growing our network of restaurants to give Amazon Prime members more options for fast delivery from their favorite brands,” said Gus Lopez, general manager of Amazon Restaurants.

Amazon Restaurants has now integrated into Olo’s application programming interface (API), Rails, a platform that lets restaurateurs drive incremental sales with incremental extra effort by easily listing their menus on third-party retail marketplaces. Rails integrates with restaurants’ point-of-sale systems to process online food orders quickly and seamlessly.

Through the partnership, thousands of Olo restaurants will gain easy integration with Amazon Restaurants, the release said, thus streamlining the ordering process and giving consumers even greater access to fast, easy dine-in options.

The benefit to Olo is exposure and potential growth to its 60 million-strong customer user base to drive business to its partner restaurants.

“Amazon’s obsession with providing great customer and restaurant experience supports the evolving expectations and behaviors of today’s consumer,” said Noah Glass, Olo founder and CEO. “We’re excited to connect more of Olo’s restaurant brands with Amazon Restaurants.”
