Apple and PayPal have each taken steps to distance themselves from the idea that they support the activities of organizations that support white supremacy in the aftermath of events in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Apple has pulled Apple Pay support from websites that sell clothing with Nazi logos and T-shirts with the phrase “White Pride.”
Meantime, PayPal took action as well by cutting off payment acceptance capabilities to some three dozen hate groups and organizations.
“Regardless of the individual or organization in question, we work to ensure that our services are not used to accept payments or donations for activities that promote hate, violence or racial intolerance,” PayPal said in a statement.
Discover also took steps to distance itself from hate organizations and said it will terminate merchant services agreements with such groups.
